Initial supervision of a student’s program is exercised by a faculty member appointed as an advisor by the major department. This advisor assists the student in planning his/her program until the student chooses a major professor under whose supervision he/she will work on the final thesis, project or portfolio. The thesis, project or portfolio supervisor must be either a Member or an Associate Member of the UB Graduate Faculty.
