We look forward to welcoming our incoming graduate students to the UB community and the Buffalo area!
This special event will begin at 1:00 p.m. with welcoming remarks by the Dean of the Graduate School in the Center for the Arts Drama Theatre. There will be a presentation by the Graduate School Office of Student Services followed by a presentation on the history of UB and Western New York. The Information Fair and reception will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Atrium.
Representatives from Parking and Transportation, Career Services, Student Wellness Services, University Libraries, Recreation and Intramural Services, the Graduate Student Association, and many more, will be available to share information regarding key resources for new graduate students. Incoming graduate students can process and activate some university services at the event with a UB Card or, with another form of photo ID and proof of course registration.
Your department's orientation takes precedence over the Welcome and Information Fair if both are scheduled for the same time. Although the Welcome and Information Fair is very beneficial for incoming graduate students, attendance is not mandatory. Please contact your department to get more information about your department's orientation. If you are an international student, contact the International Student and Scholar Services Office to get more information about the International Student Orientation. Incoming international graduate students are welcome to attend the Welcome and Information Fair.
