UB: The Graduate School: Incoming Students

Welcome to the University at Buffalo! To help get you started, here are a number of resources to set you on the path for academic success at UB.

Getting Started

As a new UB student, you'll need to get your UB Card. This card serves as your official student ID, as well as your card for meals, snacks and campus shopping.

If you haven't done so already, now is the time to apply for Financial Aid and search for jobs and assistantships.

Review class schedules to choose your courses, and then register for them. You can even buy your books online ahead of time! Be sure to review the academic calendars, so that you know when classes start and when you have scheduled breaks from school.

Health Requirements and Student Medical Insurance

Before coming to campus, make sure that you have reviewed and fulfilled the Immunization and Health Form Requirement. If you need personal medical insurance, UB offers Student Medical Insurance services.

Campus Computing and Technology

All new students need to obtain their UBITname and Password for access to UB's learning technologies. Once you have them set up be sure to visit MyUB, the campus' web portal, and iConnect@UB for information on services and software.
