Combined Degrees
Concurrent Graduate Degrees
UB allows students to complete the requirements for two graduate degrees simultaneously in some areas. This leads to a reduction in the time to degree completion as well as an opportunity to integrate coursework. The following are some examples of these dual degrees:
- The Baldy Center for Law and Social Policy serves as a focal point for "Law and..." research and teaching at UB Law School and the University as a whole. The Center supports interdisciplinary research by faculty members as well as helping to coordinate the activities of dual degree students.
- The School of Management has agreements with the Medical School, Law School, College of Arts & Sciences, Department of Architecture, and the School of Pharmacy that enable full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) students to apply their interest in business to other disciplines so they can earn another graduate degree along with the MBA.
- The School of Medicine's Medical Scientist Training Program provides highly talented students with an opportunity to combine intensive scientific training with medical school experience, allowing students to concurrently earn an M.D. and Ph.D.
- The School of Architecture and Planning offers a popular dual degree program that leads to both the Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) and the Master of Urban Planning (M.U.P.).
- The Master of Public Health Program has cooperative arrangements with UB's JD and MD programs so that, in addition to earning an MPH, students can also receive a degree in law or medicine.
